Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Peekle collects, why, who we share it with, and your choices. It applies to the Peekle mobile apps and the peekle.app website.
Who we are
Peekle is developed and operated by Aydin Yumusak (“we”, “us”), who is the data controller for the personal data described here:

What we collect
- Account: email, display name, optional username and avatar, and an account identifier (from you or from Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In).
- Preferences: home language, target language, app language, daily/weekly goals.
- Learning activity: answer attempts, adventure progress/completions, vocab cards and interactions, focus desk usage, placement results.
- Content you create or submit: prompts and text you enter in creator and vocab-generation tools, adventures you publish, reports you file, and messages you send to support.
- Social features: users you share with, block, or invite. Your display name, username, and avatar are visible to other users when you use community or sharing features, and published adventures are public in Community.
- Usage analytics: in-app events (for example screens viewed, adventures started/finished, paywall views, purchases), linked to your account identifier, together with your languages, level, and membership status.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs (device model, OS and app version, stack traces). We do not attach your name or email to crash reports.
- Device and advertising data: a device identifier used to link a local session to your account, app integrity checks, and — on iOS only if you allow tracking — your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Payments: subscription status and purchase history via RevenueCat / Apple / Google. We never receive or store full payment card numbers.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or health data.
How we use data
- To provide the service: sign-in, sync, personalization, learning features, community and sharing.
- To generate content with AI when you use creator or vocab-generation tools (see below).
- To manage subscriptions and trials.
- To show ads to users without an active Peekle Plus subscription or trial.
- To understand usage and improve Peekle (analytics), and to fix crashes and bugs (diagnostics).
- To keep Peekle safe: verify app integrity, prevent abuse, review reported content, and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
- To answer support requests and meet legal obligations.
Where the GDPR or Türkiye’s KVKK applies, we rely on performance of our contract with you (providing the service), our legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), your consent (personalized ads/tracking, AI processing of content you choose to submit), and legal obligations.
AI-generated content
When you use creator tools or generate vocab cards, the text you enter (your prompt or source text), your languages and level, and a pseudonymous request tag derived from your account are sent to third-party AI providers — OpenAI and Google (Gemini API) — to generate content. We do not send your name or email. We ask for your agreement in the app before you use these tools for the first time. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in prompts. Titles and descriptions of published Community adventures may also be sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate cover images.
Ads and tracking
Users without an active Peekle Plus subscription or trial may see ads served by Google AdMob. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland we ask for consent through Google’s consent form first. On iOS we ask for permission via App Tracking Transparency; if you decline, AdMob does not receive your advertising identifier and ads are not personalized based on tracking. You can change these choices anytime in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads). We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your learning history with advertisers.
Service providers and third parties
We share personal data only with providers that help us run Peekle, under contracts that require them to protect it and to use it only on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (EU)
- Fly.io — API hosting (EU)
- RevenueCat, Apple, and Google — subscriptions and in-app purchases
- Apple (Sign in with Apple) and Google (Google Sign-In) — sign-in, if you choose them
- OpenAI and Google (Gemini API) — AI content generation
- Google AdMob — ads (free tier)
- PostHog — product analytics (EU)
- Sentry — crash and error reporting
- Google Firebase App Check (with Apple App Attest / Google Play Integrity) — verifying requests come from the genuine app
- Google Analytics — website analytics on peekle.app only
- Your email provider and ours when you contact support@peekle.app
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and Peekle.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside Türkiye and your country (for example in the EU and the United States). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Peekle mobile apps do not use browser cookies; sign-in uses secure session tokens from Supabase Auth. The analytics, ads, and diagnostics SDKs described above use device identifiers and local storage as explained in this policy. The peekle.app website uses Google Analytics cookies to measure visits.
Retention
See Data Retention. In short: account data is kept while your account is active; after you request deletion we permanently erase it after a 30-day grace period (unless you cancel). Analytics and diagnostics data are kept by the respective providers for a limited period and then deleted. Some operational logs may be retained for a limited time for security.
Account and data deletion
You can request deletion in either of these ways:
- In the app: open Profile → Delete account, confirm, and we schedule permanent erasure 30 days later. During that window you can sign in and cancel deletion. If you use Sign in with Apple, we also revoke Peekle’s access to your Apple ID.
- Without the app: email support@peekle.app from the address on your Peekle account and ask us to delete your account and associated data. We verify the request and apply the same 30-day process.
After the grace period we permanently delete your Peekle account data from our application database and remove the auth user. Some backups or security logs may linger for a limited operational window, then expire.
Dedicated page: peekle.app/delete-account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or KVKK), you may request access to, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing). Use Help & Contact in the app or email support@peekle.app. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority — KVKK).
Children
Peekle is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Do not create an account if you are under that age. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above, on peekle.app, and in the in-app document.
